Why become a member of Cabin Crew?

Are you bored of working 9 to 5? Need something more challenging and exciting? Then a job in the airline industry maybe for you.

Hours can be long and sometimes unsociable but the rewards are great, working with different people everyday and regularly flying off to new places.

You must enjoy working with other people and have quite an outgoing personality.

Who are the Cabin Crew?

Cabin crew are onboard primarily there for passenger safety and to ensure that all passengers have a safe and pleasant flight, therefore you need to have a pleasant personality and be able to deal with the unexpected.

What is an Air Hostess typically responsible for?

Cabin crew have a variety of responsibilities. First and foremost they must ensure passenger safety at all times, performing a safety demonstration before the plane takes off.

They must ensure that the aircraft is clean and tidy, ready for the next set of passengers, so you must be willing to get involved.

They hand out meals and refreshments to all passengers. Cabin crew are also the face of their airline, so they must be enthusiastic and willing to help at all times.

What qualifications or training will I need to become an Air Hostess?

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a  C grade GCSE in Maths and English,  be a minimum of 5”2, be fluent in English be able to swim 25m and tread water and have a passport allowing you to travel within the EU.

There are also cabin crew courses available at various colleges, that can help improve your chances of getting a cabin crew job.

I would like to become an Air Hostess. How much could I expect to earn?

Salaries vary from airline to airline but the starting salary for a new recruit is roughly £14,000 including flight pay.

Experienced crew’s salary goes up to £16,000 and senior crew can expect to earn up to £22,000.
